Linderella’s Quilt Works

The past two weekends I had the honor of teaching at my favorite quilt shop back home, Linderella’s Quilt Works. Owners Linda and Carl are such a hoot and are the most generous helpful husband/wife team I know! I really can’t say enough about them!

On top of that, my class was fabulous! As usual, everyone surprised me with their great, unique fabric selections. I love seeing how every pillow turns out so different with each personality and fabric collection.

Over achiever Shirley came to the second class with her pillow finished so she could take he mother out for a lunch date !

Kat concentrating!

Susan made her pillow top into a rectangle, I can’t wait to see it finished!

Michelle’s adorable pillow!
Michelle also had an awesome tool tip!
In my pattern I recommend a .5″ seam to sew the back to the front of the pillow top. Michelle had a brilliant idea of using mole skin, which you can get from any drug store, to mark a .5″ guide. The best part is that mole skin is cheap and isn’t so sticky that it leaves residue. You can cut one piece to use to mark any guide line.
Thanks Michelle! I love learning new tips and tricks from my students!
Thanks Linderella’s Quilt Works for hosting my class!

The Original Sewing & Quilting Expo

Via Sewingexpo

Hey all you North Carolina peeps (and surrounding states)! Who all is going to the Original Sewing & Quilting Expo? It’s going on for 3 days, June 21, 22, 23, in Raleigh, and starts tomorrow! I certainly wish that I was going. Unfortunately I’m going to have to miss this year’s. 🙁

There are going to be some fantastic booths and vendors, and not to mention classes! Although I can’t be there in person, I’ll be there in spirit and I am very excited to announce that Elegant Stitches will be representing Bluprint Textiles!

 Autographs already!

Make sure your stop by and tell the crew hi, check out my pillow top, and hey, well grab a pattern while you’re there too!

Sunday Funday

Here goes another weekend come and gone. After a long, fun filled week, I basically caught up on a bit of sewing and relaxed. I’m still exhausted, but ready to start the week bright and early with my side kick, “Agent S.” You’ll be hearing more about our adventures through the summer!

I finished up this beauty, just in time it’s new owner to make her debut in the world!

Toss in a few bee blocks.

And here’s another Tula teaser to hold you guys over! I promise I haven’t forgotten to post on that awesome opportunity!!

Yes, I have to say Lee and I were living in the lap of luxury with front row seats!! I’m still in excited mode! It was a blast!
