I LOVE………

EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!!!!!

First I have to say that I have the most wonderful mother in the world to get me this gift, but on top of that, actually let me have it early! I have been looking at machines for a few months now and have been hording my mother’s Bernina. Resulting, she has resorted back to her 20 year old singer.

I had been playing back and forth with the idea of getting something simple like a singer and brother to hold me off for a year or so, simply so I could let my mother have her machine back. She was however, concerned that since I have been doing quite a bit of quilting, that I would not be happy with the mechanics of simplicity.

Therefore the ending result is….something amazing! Fantastic! Second love of my life (aside from the dog)!

My VERY OWN SEWING MACHINE!!!!!

A BERNINA 450, 75th anniversary edition!
And to top it off…. BSR (Bernina stitch regulator) 😀

Needless to say, THANKS MOM! I just had an amazing 21st birthday, with all new fun fabrics and trinkets. Now I have an awesome machine to get to sewing on!!

Swaps of the Week

So I’m in this awesome group Designer Swappy Poo, and I have been receiving some awesome swaps! I thought I would share. I think I am slightly stalking our mail-woman just to get my hand on the next package. I should have a few more swaps coming this week, I can’t wait to see them!

Custom WIP

Here is the latest custom WIP for a little girl’s Christmas gift. Each block will contain her name in one of 12 different languages! I am machine appliqueing her name with a simple satin stitch, that is right after I trace and cut out each letter! This is a very time consuming process, but it has been fun to work on something different for a change and I am extremely happy that my customer is happy with what has been completed so far!

Hello Ida, this is too much rain!

Like I said, Ida has brought buckets full of rain too us ALL day. And when I say buckets, I mean it is pouring and our back yard is…well…Flooded! I do however like rainy days when I do not have to go outside, like I do today, but it has also given me some inspiration and some much needed time to sew. This was another pretty simplistic top with a few nine patches thrown in. It is made from Momo Wonderland and Amy Butler mainly, with a few of Amy’s new “Love” line tossed in!

Unfortunately I was not able to get a fabulous picture, but this will do for now and props to my wonderful model husband for helping with the photography (which I had to shoot quickly so he could get back to his new Call of Duty game 🙂

Any name suggestions??

I have not fully decided how I am going to quilt it or what the backing/binding will look like either. Usually it just seems to come together.
