For a while I have been admiring the cute little applique circles that Alison over at Starlitnest has for sale. I figured they could not be that hard to make my self and with the exact materials i wanted. After struggling for a few days with the yo-yo maker and desperately trying to get the edges folded in and ironed just right I was pretty fed up. Luckily Alison was such a help! She explained to make a circle template (one that wont melt, I purchased some “heat resistant” plastic circles. and they melted), place inside the material stitch around, pull tight and then iron. I worked wonders! So thanks again Alison!!
So first there were circles.
And then there were more circles.
I think they turned out quite cute if i must say so myself. Although I do have to say I have never done this much hand work so my fingers are a bit sore. I did however find that the hand sewing was quite relaxing and allowed my to catch up on a few good movies that I otherwise cannot hear with the sewing machine running.
As for the BACK TO SCHOOL SALE, that can be found over at my shop. I am clearing out quilts to make room for the new fall designs which I am currently working on (the quilt with the circles above will be in the fall collection if you are interested). Take a look around and Enjoy! The SALE will only last until September 1st!
