Thanks to mom and the weekends

Our oh so short snow has come and gone in only a few days time span. I’m sad to see it go being the snow bunny I am. I think I am confused living in practically snow-less part of the state. I did however, enjoy the few days off from school. In fact so much, that I have tons of homework to get ready for tomorrow. ehh.

For the weekend I did NO quilting. I think there is something wrong with me. It has been a while since I have not either held a piece of fabric in my hand everyday or finished a quilt every few days. There is an adorable new quilt finished though! Actually it has been finished for a few days and I still haven’t posted it on Etsy. Thats surprising! Hopefully tomorrow I will get around to getting the pictures taken. Of course for good reasons I have not had the time. My mom and I painted my dining room this weekend and it looks so cool! I haven’t gotten pictures and such hung up yet because I literally finished taking the tape off the walls a few minutes ago. Here are the Before and Afters (Please excuse the messy table lol).
I must say I am impressed with my lack of painting skills. There will be more pictures to come once I get everything cleaned up and pictures on the walls.
I have a nice long weekend again this coming up weekend. Perfect time to start getting things ready for Spring Fest. As long as I don’t get loaded down with homework, so I’ll be crossing my fingers!

YAY SNOW!!!

Well, it’s the first snow of the year! How fun! Not to mention school is out. I feel like such a little kid, but come on, everyone loves a snow day. I was awakened to knocking on my bedroom window this morning to see Bella hopping about outside in the snow. She has never seen snow before, it was quite a hoot! We were out there for a good hour or so playing with the neighbor boys and sledding. Of course Bella got tired and decided she was going to sit on Riley’s back while he was laying on the sled. Needless to say she was a icicle by the time she was done.

It is the perfect day to work on the quilts I started last night. One is completely quilted and ready for binding, the other needs quilting and binding. I think today will be the perfect day to just indulge myself in fabrics!

Here is a sneak peek of the one that is quilted, the other is soon to come. I’m sure it will appear on etsy in the next few days or so.

Snow tonight?

I know, I know, Im a horrible blogger. Its been a week, but a busy one! I’ve been at my dads and Pat’s the past few days. It was of course fun, but not as much sewing got done as hoped. Oh well. We did get new fabric though! You should never take Pat and I into a fabric store together without knowing that we are going to want most of the fabric we see.

But of course I left the tops I was working on at their house. Ughh. So! That means starting new ones and those will be put on the back burner until we are reunited. I was pretty frustrated with myself about leaving them, because I finally found the perfect backing for a top that I have had done for a few months now. I guess whats a few more.

I was rushing to get another Sushi Breath quilt finished this weekend for the cutest twin boys in the world!! I really hope they enjoy them. I really think they will though. They are 3 years old and love to go to the pet store and get the little fish in the bags to carry home to their fish tank. Which the quilt depicted little fish in bags, just like they like!

I have the fabrics picked out for the new designs and have decided that I am going to start sticking to the same pattern for a few quilts….well thats what I think for now. haha. Who knows that could change.

Also! I have finally gotten a Wii and Wii fit! I LOVE it! It is sooo much fun, esp. when there is more that one person around at the same time. I think I got my own ab workout while sitting on the couch laughing at the rest of them try to figure out the fit.

So apparently they are calling for snow tonight! Exciting! I havent seen snow all year.

Bella has been taking care of my mom’s flower garden. I think she is digging them up to protect them from the frost bite they might get tonight….NOT. The silly little thing has stopped picking just the flowers off the plant, seeing that they are all gone now, and has moved on to de-rooting the whole pansy. Poor flowers.

Monday

Talk about being a lazy day around the house. I sent Jake off to training, so now I am free to sew and do whatever on my own time. YAY! But I do miss him, and the cranky voice of “Babeee” and the Xbox. I finished another top which brings me to two tops, and then a third one that is…well almost done. I wasn’t going to start this whole “topper” thing, but the first one I still haven’t quite found the right backing and the second and third ones are the same designs. Which I have never stuck with the same pattern either, I always seem to get off on some tangent and want to start a new pattern to see what it looks like.

The adorable 100 vintage paper hearts that I ordered last week came in today and I can’t wait to find the perfect frame!

Bella has been so eager to help with the quilts today, I think she thinks she knows how to sew better than I do. She’s so silly, I just can’t resist her cranky little face, even when she is acting like a wild woman tearing through the house…of which she is doing right now, with her squeaky elephant.
